Tranny shifts between 3rd and 4th Gear

Thanks for the advice, Trevor, but it might be too late for me. Ever notice how, when someone is dying they improve for a few days right before death? I think that's what my SVX did. This morning on the way to work, it suddenly stopped shifting into 3rd. It just revs right up to 5000 RPM's in 2nd, and then shifts into 4th. I've read so many symptoms of a busted tranny, but one thing many of them have in common is a loss of 3rd gear. Probably dead, huh?

hey man i would check the brake band or band brake. it probably needs to be adjusted mine was kindof doing the samething
