Boost is on the way. Need Help

I got one helluva offer from a few guys at work. They are offering to help me get my car boosted. All I have to do is get the parts and help put it all together.

Here is my plan.

1. Get a really small turbo. Something along the lines of a 16g off a Mitsu.
2. Get an SVX header to use for the flange i'll need and make it work.
3. Get Stage 2v5 chip from LongAssName.

That is basically it. I don't plan on running an intercooler just yet, as I only want to run 4 pounds of boost. Basically a budget build up. Let me know what you think of the plans.

Is there anything I am missing or need to include?

Thanks in advance.

sounds good so far, but are you sure you don't want to intercool it? I mean, you can buy a FMIC off NASIOC or eBay or somewhere and it won't be too expensive. With your addiction to adrenaline, it would prbly be worth it.

don't forget to upgrade the fuel delivery too

Big advice -- check out PhastSVX's thread on his turbo install, follow it and PM him with any questions you might have. Phil has done it right and has set the standard for turbo'ed SVXi.

I just did a little bit of research into the whole mess, and it looks like I could be getting the whole set up for around 600 bucks. An intercooler from an Evolution 8 will be mine for 100 bucks and a 16g turbo or t3/t4 .57 trim turbo will be had for 300. Got a great hook up of mandrel bent piping for fairly cheap.

The only thing that is left that will cost me is the ecutune stage 2v5.

Boost controller is free as I already have one.

The only thing that I am not really pleased to announce is that it will be a build in progress. The ECUtune chip will be the first as everything else will be mocked up and put in all at once with the exception of the intercooler, which will find its way on in the early stages of the build.

I can sell you my twin turbos off my bro's z32. I have the 2 tubors, all couplers for the turbos, intercoolers, and a couple other odds and ends... let me know if you are interested. I think my project will be put on the back burner for some time. BTW they are garret t25's

How much for one turbo? I know I can get a 14b off a first gen eclipse, for next to nothing, but I also want something bigger than a 14b.

I have a stock WRX turbo (new), a new FMIC, a virtually new RRFPR, and a bag of discs for the RRFPR, all for sale.
Is the stock WRX turbo big enough for you?

PS, I am now hitting 8-9 psi with my S/C set up.

you cannot use a single t25 off a z32 for the eg33. It will be out of it's effeiciency range at 1500 rpm But no, you would need both to run it

Also keep in mind that I am doing a budget buildup and getting a lot of killer parts for cheap from friends.

I'll take the RRFPR and discs. Don't know what a fair price is for that, so throw a price out there and we will negotiate then.

***Update***

I have a connection with an SRT intercooler. $100 and I walk away with a virtually new intercooler.

I have a hook up with Revteck here in Idaho to get all the intercooler piping bent specifically for my car. Don't have a price yet, but that will come tomorrow.

I am going to look at a 16g JDM Eclipse/Talon turbo in about an hour.

More details on the way soon.

I went and looked at the turbo. It is a TD05H. Which turbo is that. It is really small and am concerned as to if it will be sufficient enough to work on the SVX.

Yeah, the turbo I looked at is a 14b. Will this be worthwhile to drop into the SVX? Is it too small.

I guess the other question I have is what turbo from any other car will best suit the needs of the EG33. I'm kinda looking for a used turbo for the time being, unless something else comes my way.
