No mistake

No Ron, I know Ms. Hartline was on Super-Circus. I think I had a crush on her when the only crush I knew was orange and came in a bottle. Later, as I - ahem - MATURED, I had it bad for Penny on Sky King... Don

Significant Technical Input
Actually I think it was "Pluck your magic twanger, Froggie". Mom worked and when she came home she didn't want to hear a bunch of kids running around screaming so we never watched Romper Room, Cowboy Bob, et al. I never cared for Flicka and the other horses, so I was stuck watching Annette and Penny... (Stuck, yeah, that's it, stuck.... )

However I do remember Ben Casey, Dr. Kildare, beach movies and Elvis. The Real McCoys, Pete and Gladys, Ozzie and Harriet, The Andersons, Danny Thomas, Donna Reed, Loretta Young, Red Skelton and Sgt. Bilko were all family. We sang along with Mitch, popped bubbles with Larry, searched for a one-armed man with David Jannsen and Jimmy Dean actually had a singing gig before he started selling sausage. Steve Allen, Sid Caesar, Imogene Cocoa, Uncle Milty and Ernie Kovacs kept us laughing.

I never quite cared for Kukla, Fran or Ollie, but I knew Sunday nights held a chance to see Senor Wences or Jose Jimenez. We could always hope for a cartoon on Disney, maybe a Donald or Goofy special.

You left out "I Married Joan."

Yeah, I think we all had it for Penny. Later, it was "Mrs Peel" on "The Avengers" and Joey Heatherton in the RC Commercials. Wowzers!!

My dad used to schedule his Ed Sullivan watching around the Smothers Brothers, Moms Mabley and those dudes who played Harmonicas. He was elated when the Smothers Brothers got their own show. Yeah, my dad was kinda weird. He'd also take us to the drive-in movies when they were showing the Road Runner between features. He didn't really care which movies were showing, he just wanted to see the Road Runner.
