Wheel Bearing Fix

I went to a local Subaru dealer to check out the new WRX. While talking to the sales manager, I mention that I currently drive SVX and the only complain is that I had to replace my wheel bearings more than once. He told me that if I ever need to replace my wheel bearings again, request for roller bearings rather than the ball bearings. Forester had the same problem (using the same wheel ball bearings as the SVXes). Since Subaru sold more Forester than SVX and they had to address the issue.

Just want to pass the info to the SVX owners...

SVX bearings have always been roller bearings. The SALES manager must be confused...

I'd like to see a SALES manager who knew what he was talking about when it came to TECH issues. Now that would be a great find.

Very good point indeed.

The former Subaru dealership here in Winnipeg is quite small and everyone there can do any of the jobs. I still trust them more with my SVX than I do the current Subaru Dealership here established in 1998.

the sales guy up here at the subbie/vw/audi place loves the svx, he's got one of his own, babies it like nuts. Whenever I have a question I just go up there and ask him. He usually knows the answer, or I goto parts and the manager back there loves the car too. :-) at least they have taste
