Painted wheels and clear coat.

Well I finally got some pictures in my locker of the wheels I redid. I got used wheels and checked them for straightness. They were okay. Well except for one It had .043 TIR. That mean total indicator runout. So I had to get another one. The project went pretty fast. I only started it in March of 04. That's when I place dthe order. Then the order didin't come. So I called to find out they lost the wheels. The next time I called because they didin't come they said they loaned them to someone. Finally I got all four wheels and glass beaded them at work. I found out glass beading does not remove tar. That has to get scraped off first. Then I waited for a bright sunny dry day and painted them silver and then clear coat using Duplicolor. I happy with the way they came out. They look fine. The pictures are taken in the shade and the camera is not so good. You will see what I mean because they are really both silver.

Yeah Thanks A lot better than that tan plastic that shows when the paint comes off the center caps. I did two extra caps for when these start to wear. Now I just I hope they last for about two years before I have to repaint again. I also want to figure out away to straight my old rims. Those will get painted BLACK.

You could probably get 2 good replacement rims for $129.

True dat. I'll have four for sale very soon. Got a set of 3 good and 1 bad 18" Konig Flight's with Toyo Proxies for $200. Found that place cause one of the rims needs the $129 fixer-up treatment.

This is the second set of rims I have put on the X. The set I just took off is bent bad. One wheel has got a .09 TIR and all the others are over .040 TIR.

Pot holes on Rt 80. Hit a pot hole at 65mph and there goes the rim. Driving 123 miles per day increases the odds of hitting one.

I can't afford $129 dollars a shot to replace a rim. I really want do this myself some how.

The Baby-X really rides poorly when the rims are bent.

Save your old bent rims for me LOL
