Hail-bent
Super_Ru is currently resting in the shade of the old spruce tree beside the house. Ifin you look up through the branches of that thing, you can't even see sunlight! That should slow down hail smaller than golf ball size. 'Corse ifin lightning happens to hit the tree....
 I heard it said in these parts, that a couple or three old quilts....or a reasonable likeness thereof....thrown over the hood, roof, and trunk (bonnet...boot etc.) will do most of the time. Ifin ya live out thar in the land of Dorothy and Toto.....well....perhaps a deactivated Minuteman missile silo would be in order. We've had some real frog-drowners this spring....several bad flash floods....so as they say in France... Mercy! Buckets! Don

I almost...
...had to put some of these hail protection ideas to the test on Friday when central VA was under a tornado and hail warning. A twister touched down about 8 miles from my office and nickel sized hail was falling just 5 miles away...
 Luckily no one was injured...and no hail or tornado touched my SVX! -Chike

Yeah, this is a beautiful town kinda in the middle of everything. After graduating from UVA in '00 I just couldn't leave, and when my college girlfriend and I got engaged, it sealed the deal since she's originally from C'ville as well.
