Angry Air Conditioning Problem

OK GUYS! I NEED UR HELP. MY 95 SVX A/C IS ACTING UP..WHEN I GET IN THE CAR, START IT AND TURN ON THE A/C BY PRESSING THE AUTO BUTTON IT JUST SITS THERES AND DOES NOTHING THEN ALL OF THE SUDDEN IT'LL BLOW HARD AS HELL 4 2 SECONDS THEN GO BACK TO LOW SPEED THEN ALL OF THE SUDDEN IT'LL STARTING BLOWING FULL BLAST AGAIN. IT JUST KEEPS REPEATING THIS CYCLE. ALSO, DURING A/C OPERATION THE BLOWER WILL STAY ON BUT THE COMPRESSOR WILL JUST TURN OFF THEN ALL OF THE SUDDEN IT'LL KICK BACK ON AGAIN. NOW, I CAN MAKE THE BLOWER COME ON WHATEVER SPEED I CHOOSE BY PRESSING THE APPROPRIATE BLOWER SPEED BUTTON BUT THE COMPRESSOR WON'T COME ON UNTIL IT GETS READY WHICH CAN BE ANYWHERE FROM 15 SECONDS TO A COUPLE OF MINUTES. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP...I'M TIRED OF GOING FROM COOLING TO COMPLETE HEAT IN A MATTER OF SECONDS.

RECENT WORK DONE: A/C COMPRESSOR W/ DRIER. I ADDED THIS FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY..IT WAS DOING THE SAME EXACT THING WITH THE OLD COMPRESSOR. NO, I DIDN'T CHANGE THE COMPRESSOR THINKING THAT WAS THE PROBLEM, IT WAS GETTING NOISY AND GOING OUT.

Wow, I haven't seen that pdf file before. I like it. I think I'm going to calibrate my temperature settings tomorrow. I think I'm 2 degrees too warm.

BTW, my AC is doing the same thing.

Dayle

That's a hard one to call.

Go to the How-to locker above, locate and do the AC diagnostic.

Mine recently stopped blowing on Auto. It was low on gas. If the temp differentials are wrong, not enough gas, the thing is programmed to shut down to save the compressor. The gas contains the oil which lubes the compressor. So not enough gas equals not enough lube equals blown compressor, ergo it shuts off.

However, I could still get the fan to run manual on 1 or 11 or 111, so your problem may be different.

Do the diagnostic, it runs through all servos, doors, motors routines, and reports a code if something is amiss.

If no code, suspect low gas.

Joe

Too low freon pressure maybe? (Borderline perhaps) What's the name of that switch or relay?

Sounds like it needs some gas, cutting out on low pressure switch. If it is a R134 system that is probably the cause! Just my 2 cent
