Engine detailing

Now that the SVX is no longer my daily driver (sniff, sniff), I want to start prettying it up for AutoFest. While waxing the car yesterday (took a couple hours longer than I originally intended :P), I opened the hood and was surprised. Dirt, oxidation on the intake manifold, etc.

I know half of the fun is doing stuff myself, but has anyone ever had someone else do engine detailing for them? Maybe just a 'steam-cleaning?'

I'm a novice at this...where's Brian when I need him?
