Angry got stuck!

My baby failed me tonight. I was turning down the next street over and my car got stuck in something i can only assume was cement falling from the sky. The The front compacted the cement/snow under the car and locked itself to the frame. Some guy in a legacy drove right by me as i was trying to dig out. I'm sure decent narrow snows would've helped me out, but thats besides the point!...damn low ground clearance, damn it to hell. I need some air struts, XT6 style.

Good point Alex.

I wonder if it would be possible to run a set of taller and narrower tyres for snow use. Narrower obviously would work, but how much taller could you go without fouling the fender?

Also, diff lock would be useful for those stuck situations.

the SVX has performed great in the snow all winter - only got stuck one time. it got stuck because the snow was higher than the bumper! other than that big dumping we got, i haven't had to shovel my driveway at all. its fun watching the neighbor spend hours shoveling, and then STILL struggle to get up his driveway in a mini-van.
i borrowed my aunt's GMC Jimmy one time to haul some stuff and got stuck in the driveway. i had to throw it in lo-lock to get out, where the SVX drove on the same stuff like it was clean asphault. gotta love Subaru's!

taller snows

I run 215-60x16 snows on the stock rims

They raise the car about 3/4" and certainly help avoid getting stuck, something that never has happened to me in the heaviest snow winter in the past 15 years
