I've been very happy with mine. No problems at all. And I even used the same hoses, except for the upper radiator hose, which I had to cut in order for it to fit (got an original with the longer connector on top).

is there any way to organize another group buy.... as I need one[PWR radiator] now as well (plus I wasn't here for the first group buy ) My "plastic" top tank has developed a hairline crack along the curve... I have it patched with two tubes of quicksteel as of right now, but who knows how long that will last.

I pick it up tomorrow, bought a 92 yesterday from TapperManor for $1250. I read all his posts and put half down, i guess it was kind of random but whatever lol... after Atco and always standing around at meets thinking "hey my truck is a piece of sh**" I saw a deal and grabbed it.

Tom.... you know me too well.. haha... actually it did have transfer clutch bindage at one point for the last owner, after which he changed the fluid and filter and it stopped, now it just takes a second to engage into gear???? (whatever.....) if it drives until i get the cash for a 5 speed trans and stuff, its good enough. that and it may need a MAF sensor. Im leaving at 2 am for this thing. wish me luck. ok ill stop the thread whoring and get my own thread...for updates on my svx look under "so i randomly got myself a real car.." under general babble

That's a sweet price. I don't see it listed on the website - do you have to call them?

I'll need to get one later this year as I'll be doing some serious n/a mods to my car and I need to be 100% sure that my engine cooling system is top notch!

Radiator attacks AC Compressor... And wins

Hey guys. I've been away for a while!

No one jumped up and down over the fit issues on this radiator like I did. I was pretty torqued...... Regardless of how the miscommunications happened.

But!!!

My 92 was totaled a few months back by a 19 YO with a cell phone.

With myself at a dead stop watching the future unfold, and unable to back up, she rolled above my bumper (barely scraped the top of the bumper) at about 15 to 20mph, and smashed everything.. Headlights and above, into my engine. That includes my PWR aluminum radiator which was first, along with the fans, to introduce itself to a running engine.

The 92 is rebuilt now....... and this is the incredible part.
The rebuild required a new AC compressor which was damaged by the radiator crashing into it. The clutch bit the big one by the crash, and bent the spindle attaching it. Literally bent that spindle to the amazement of Mechanical Engineers worldwide.

I had to cut out and replace the entire front frame of the car between the fenders. Everything was destroyed.

But the radiator...... survived....

That's right..... Everything in the front end, bumper up, had to be replaced.... except for this PWR radiator. It survived.

The radiator is very slightly warped, but it fit right back into the car with just a gentle nudge with my fingers to get one of the top mounts to bolt on. There are absolutely no leaks or pressure issues. It did blow another stock top hose, and a brand new one at that. But I now know how it does that, and why the silicone hoses don't blow, and why only certain ones of us were affected by this phenomena.

I am first to admit.....
There were........ "regrettable fit issues" at the beginning, but I have to say this is one tough radiator....... It is well worth the cost.

If a radiator has a fight with a bolted in and running AC compressor...... and wins???? IT WINS????

This radiator is well worth it........ Doesn't matter if they corrected anything... (Which I read they did anyway.)

Buy this radiator if you need a replacement...... And this comes from one of the most vocal of the group buy "fit issue dissenters".

Buy this radiator. It will literally outlast a complete total of your front end.

Thumbs up Any interest in Group Buy #2?

Maybe we could work out a group discount with Josh @ PWR to see what kind of price he'll sell a batch of aluminum rads for if we got 10, 15 or even 20 buyers?

It would be nice if we could do a group buy on these things at least once a year especially as the holiday season approaches and people are looking for nice gifts for themselves!

If Group Buy #2 can happen, count me in!
