Justy Wheels: Irreconcilable Differences?
So I found 13" wheels for the Justy today at a yard in lovely Kankakee. They're 13x5 alloys off an '88 Celica. Three are in perfect shape and one's a little...faded.
Anyway, the wheels use a diffrent kind of lug nut than the stock steel wheels. There's a photo in my locker of the two different lug nuts. The one on the left is for the steel wheels and the one on the right came with the wheel. But the thread pitches don't match. Can I just get 'flanged' lug nuts in different thread pitches or do I have to replace the studs? There are also two other photos in the same folder, which illustrate the other problem I have. The Justy's hub seems to be a larger diameter than the Celica's, so the little notches that stick out don't fit into the wheels. Can I just have the hole in the center of the wheel machined out a little to fit? There's certainly enough material there.
