How does your tranny perform?

My transmission was rebuilt one year ago. Mechanically it functions fine but I really hate it's characteristis. How do you feel about yours?

My subaru rebuild I got from Brian at smallcar shifts great with resistor unplugged.
My wife's local rebuild shifts awesome. Resistor plugged in and it still shifts so firm you'd never think you were in an svx.

The tranny in our '97 SVX has always performed great since day one.

The tranny in my 92 SVX has performed great since I bought it. Then the droping (is it dropping or dopping) resisitor died. The shifts started to slam after that when the fluid was cold. Backing out of my driveway each morning, then shifting to 3 meant a kick in the back and a lurch. When the ATF warmed up the shifts became snappy.
I put in a new resistor & the shifting is smooth as slik. It is what I consider normal for the SVX.
I now notice that the SVX is dripping ATF. I use synth. ATF so I need to find the leak.

Is there any way to find out if my tranny's been rebuilt without calling the original owner? The wife seems to not like me hehe.

I have 85,600 miles and my tranny runs pretty well. I give constant care and always idle the car for 5-10 minutes after drives. The parking brake also alleviates some of the strain when the cars not on too

My auto shifts very well and the 5 speed will shift even better, depending on operator capabilities!

Mine was just replaced last week and this one shifts fantastically so far. It's not rebuilt, just a low mileage replacement. So far so good!
