Wow, you really did pull this thread from a ways back.

I kinda like the fade from yellow to white, too... and the vent thing is sorta cool (definitely unique, don't know about functional). However, I'm not a fan of the wheels in yellow... I've never liked body-colored wheels... just don't seem to give a nice contrast like silver/grey/etc. wheels do.

A few other people here have used that Australian company's (Powerchip) chip... and not really noticed any improvements. Not too cool considering how expensive their chips are, too! Oh well, you can't really get much from a new chip on a N/A car.

Anyways... welcome to the club.

Welcome! and a question

Are the Wheels the same shade...? they look to be a little darker yellow than the body. Overall (and I'm not a fan of yellow Svx...but) I think I like it. Sorry RWJ

Paint job

I've been thinking about a paint job and I will be going to Rider U. in Lawrenceville this fall. Just out of curiosity, how much did it cost? I think it look kinda cool if my car faded on an angle to black so that the roof and trunk would still be black and the front would still be claret.

It's nice that you finally made it here. My friends tell me of this car all the time, but i've never seen it for myself. There are a few of us from the area that get together for dinner every so often. You're welcome to join us.

You're not imagining things... the wheels are a bit darker than the body. My guess is that the body shop used the same shade of paint, but it turned out darker when sprayed on the wheels.

If I could do it over, I would still keep the wheels yellow (really!), but lighten it up a couple of shades so they don't stand out quite so much.

The car was originally red. Since that was the same color as my previous '94 SVX, I wanted a different color for the new one. It's been a while but I believe the whole job (painting plus the new vent) was just north of $1000. I'll look it up and re-post if that number is way off.

Are those the "Hooked-Up" Scoops?? Really, the car looks nice but I don't quite care for the wheels. Aftermarket rims would suit this car just fine!

Randy Randy are you ok? (Earl shakes Randy) You! Go call 911! Earl checks Randy for breathing. Good thing he is still breathing, cause if he wasn't, he was gonna die!

(yep, I just finished my First Aid refresher!)

I'm trying to dial 911 but I'm so horrified and shaken by Randy convulsing on the floor, that my fingers fumble around on the keypad, and won't strike true!

Why does he have to run straight to the computer to hop on the Network every time he gets out of the shower?!? I think my hair has turned grey from that frightening sight!

Only $1000+ fo the whole job?! That'd be pretty dang cheap.

Wow

$1000 for a paint job like that is an excellent price, can you get me his information? I might have to give him a call someday

I do like the fade in the paint also it looks good. not real fond of the wheels just too much yellow. all in all the car looks good. If it was my car this is what I would do. front lip spoiler this one , throw on my wheels (what can I say, I'm partial), and I'd loose the spoiler.

Not that I'm saying my ideas are any better than yours.

I looked it up last night... total cost for the yellow/white paint job and the front vent was $3,000, done 5 years ago.

Obviously this is way more than the $1,000 that stuck in my mind. Maybe $1,000 was the price he quoted me for some nice chrome wheels, so I just told him to paint 'em instead

Job was done by Rege at Kustom Koach, in the Lawrenceville section of Pittsburgh.
