svx in snow

Question to anyone who lives in the "snowy" parts of America. Have any of u guys/girls tried doin a 360 doughnut in the snow? I have! Its fun, too. For the ones who dont know what I'm talkin about. I mean, when there is a thick coat of snow on the ground,u pop-it into 1st,turn the wheel 'till it cant be turned no more and hit the gas(make sure it's an empty parking lot, too, obviously). The car will just sit there and spin.I've seen it in the "Big Tymerz" video for the song "Get your roll on". But,in the video, it's done with a Lamborghini Diablo(in the rain).I've only done it a couple of times, though.Dont wanna mess up the bearings, but it is fun to do and its fun to see it done.

A friend of mine did that with his miata in an empty movie theater parking lot. It's all fun and games till someone gets a ticket....or slides into a lamp post!

Snow 'Practice'

It's hard to do donuts with the AWD I've found. If you punch it the car mostly slides.

I used to do reverse ones in my old FWD Buick. Great fun. Not so good on the CVs though...

Easier way: GO about 5-15mph in a snowy parking lot, yank Ebrake and turn all the way. WEE!

Speaking of snow....we're supposed to get a "light dusting" on Thursday in the Chicago area.

Hopefully I wont be here. I'll be down in Bloomington for the state golf meet! We won sectionals yesterday! We shot 297 for anyone who knows what I mean....

I doubt many people will see this reply, but I didn't want to start a new thread. The SVX's all wheel drive is not a ticket to hall ass in the snow or icy conditions. Treat it as such and you'll likely end up in the ditch. Colorado had it's first "major" snow storm to day. As the early season snow was wet, the roads were covered in ice. (unusual for Colorado snow.) It didn't take much pressure on the gas peddle to get all 4 wheels spinning. While the AWD is very helpful, don't expect to outrun Jeeps in conditions like this. However, I'm glad that I had the oportunity see that my car is working fine. Everythings engaging as it should be. Back wheels and ABS

Try doing that in the VDC. You just can't spin like that. VDC system will kick in and kick you out of your spin. Love the VDC

My father recently bought an Outback VDC. Upon visiting him, I had the opportunity to test drive it. I found the tight steering and smooth suspension very appealing. Quite a shock when used to the SVX. Unfortunately, I haven't had the opportunity to try it in the snow yet.
