Re: Best suby or equivalent??
Wow lots of response. Thanks guys. Has anyone heard any more about possible suby GT coupe that was rumored a couple years ago? Kinda what I am really looking for. Hybrid flat six has serious potential with today's technology

Re: Best suby or equivalent??
if i've learned one thing, its to not buy a 1st year vehicle and be a guinea pig for the manufacturer's beta test ... especially with Subaru.

Re: Best suby or equivalent??
Well that was surprising. Went to test drive a used S5 4.2 today, I will be taking delivery Monday. Decided against spending a lot a spent 21k on a 2010. Really looking forward to driving it more but was a little late to the dealer today. Will post pics... Can't believe I bought an Audi

Re: Best suby or equivalent??
Congratulations Tom!! Perfect car for you.
Like many German high performance cars, these can get expensive to repair for the average guy...you are not the average guy!! This car will let you take advantage of your automotive skills, you can own this car, enjoy the farfegnugen and not get taken to the cleaners when it needs repair, as you can do many of the repairs yourself with the help of folks on the interwebs such as yourself, sharing their experiences.

Re: Best suby or equivalent??
Thanks!! The dealer did indeed try to take me to the cleaners for my Ford though! They offered me 1500 for it, so I will be selling it on my own. Worst part is I have to wait until Monday to take it!! As much as I am nervous about owning another German performance luxury car, the M5 could have broken me if I didn't unload it, I cannot wait to hear that v8 under the hood again

Re: Best suby or equivalent??
You will love the S5 and its glorious V8. I had an S4 with the slightly different 4.2 and loved it until a deer decided to attack it on the highway and get it totalled.
The Audi (or other German stuff) is not for everyone though, but for someone with your skills you'll be fine. My S4 didn't give me much trouble, except for a broken heater hose which was nearly impossible to get at given the big V8 in small car packaging. At least the S5 should be better in that regard. You'll probably want to get a VAG-CON if you don't have access to one already. Enjoy
