Books RE: Under the hood?

I would like to be able to look under the hood and know what's what and what does what. Can anyone recommend any books that teach about that sort of thing, hopefully with pictures? Do they make an "Automobiles For Dummies" or something along those lines?

Chilton Subaru Coupes/Sedans/Wagons 1985-96 repair manual. Chilton#64302. not TOO bad for starters....

Check out the lockers and find the "How To" locker. It has some good pictures and they lable many of the parts that are shown. Good luck.

I'm pretty sure there's a 'Dummies' book. The problem with a Chilton's manual is that, if you are starting at the beginning, there will be many terms in the book that you won't understand.

Might I suggest 'How Stuff Works?'
