you might be an svx owner if...

...you've tried driving in the rain with the windows open to see if they really work

...you've convinced yourself that the wind must have blown the rain into the car when you still end up getting wet

...you never use more than two electrical accessories at the same time because you don't have the power

...you actually change your ATF, and very often at that

...you have a Legacy transmission

...you'd pay $300 for a taillight that says Alcyone SVX instead of Subaru SVX, just to confuse more people as to what type of car you drive

...you'd pay $60 for an Alcyone hood ornament to even further confuse people as to what type of car you drive

...when someone asks you what an H-6 is you use your hands to demonstrate how the pistons move

...your gas tank is on E and you don't fill it because you know you still have atleast 50 miles left before it's really empty

...you cut your antenna wire to install your new head unit, then you realized 2 months later that you didn't need to

...a vanity mirror has ever drained your battery, without even using it

I've tried, and it works as long as you don't turn the windshield wipers on. Not to mention, you can't stop, or the water pours in from the top.

It does not work since I have RAIN-X on all my windows and windshield and I go fast in the rain (so that I don't have to use my wipers)

Rain-X

Does Rain-X really work? If so what kind is best (spray-on, squirt on, or the other stuff)?

Yes it does, at cruising speed the rain just rolls off the windshield.

Agreed. Use the "wipe on" stuff. I also use the Rain X "De-Icer/Windshield washer fluid" in my washer reservoirs.

it works good if you're going highway speeds, but driving around town it decreases the effectiveness of your wipers - they just push the water around.

You maybe an SVXer if you:

1) Help another SVXer find a second SVX, rather than watching the Yankees on TV (that's baseball) play the left coast in the ALCS.

2) (You're gonna love this) Park your bordeaux Pearl SVX nose to nose with a new burgundy/silver BAJA on the verge of the grass in front of a Subaru dealership. Then you run across Rte. 31 in Flemington, NJ and stop taffic in both directions so you can take the pictures with your camera. ...... I want to thank the truck driver in the yellow 18-wheeler for helping to hold traffic back.

3) If you tell the womwan in the platinum Lexus convertible hardtop that the interior of her car is absolutely beautiful. And that your car is called an SVX, it has AWD, it is a Subaru, the back seat folds down for carrying skis, and unfortunately it is not made any more. "No it's not new,ma'am, it's a 1997 model. The one sitting over there is a 1996 model. The color is called Polo Green. No I'm not a salesman."
