Where is a good place near driver's seat to ground?

i want to install power mode mod over my thanksgiving break, and i need a good spot to ground that lonely pin #4. i already tried it by switching pin #6 with #4 so i could control it via the manual mode button. it worked well, but i missed manual mode, especially in traffic. i've seen the posts on grounding it to that blue wire by the kick panel, but i feel like i'll break something by slicing wires, or slice the wrong one... so, other than the door, are there any other places i could use for ground (without removing the whole radio cage)? i thought about the parking brake handle, but wasn't sure.

Re: Where is a good place near driver's seat to ground?

Your putting a switch near the center console??

- Any of the screws holding the shifter base to the tunnel.
- Bolts holding the ebrake handle down

Or put a DPST stitch between the manual button and the ECU, one pole will go to pin 4, the other pole to pin 6. Throw the switch one direction and the manual button does Manual, throw it the other and the manual button will do Power.

that is a good idea, but i am actually just going to install a push button switch for now, because i want to find a shift-lock switch to put where that blank oval is below the shifter, like the japanese ones have. that's my plan at least

The German SVXs have two switches for this purpose.

On for the Manual control and one for the power antenna.

In fact, the button of the side of the gear selector lets you choose between ECON (normal) and POWER.
