Playing a gig in Hollywood next weekend

I've got my first music gig in over a year next weekend.

My buddy Ry Cook finally got himself a manager and is working on launching his songwriting carrier. I've played a few shows with him in the past so he's asked me back him up again. I'll be playing lap steel (dobro) as well as possibly banjo and mandolin on a couple of songs alongside an upright bassist and an electric guitarist while Ry croons and strums up front.

The venue is called Genghis Cohen and it's by far the biggest venue I've ever played. Being the night before Halloween it might be kinda quiet, as most parties are that night, but it's being written up in the LA Weekly and Andy, the manager, is pushing his pretty hard with flyers and word of mouth.

If anyone local is interested check out Genghis Cohen and click on the night of the 30th. I hope that link works 'cause I'm posting from my phone.

I'm nervous.

Nice dude! My sister owns Royale Entertainment down there and does commercials for a lot of corporations, including ESPN. Ive been missing SoCal so maybe I should swoop in and see who she can introduce me to

Good luck, should be a lot of fun.

Just a couple more hours until show time. We've got old friends I haven't seen since college coming along with a handful of co-workers. At least 15-20 folks confirmed in addition to whoever else can't find something better to do on a Saturday night. Should be a real hootenanny.
