Need Good exhaust pic..

I've searched and searched and while a common mod/repair I can't find a good pic of a camaro style muffler installed on a SVX.

Trying to get some work done here locally, and it's a chore just to find an exhaust shop to work on car.

Would love to get a couple of pic examples to take in with me to show them.

Scott/Omaha

Re: Need Good exhaust pic..

Got my car back last night after seeing a 2nd exhaust shop that had no problems working on car.

Same as a lot of members here get done, 2 new precats, 2 into 1 cat, cherry bomb resenator to a Magnaflow muffler and was able to keep stock tips.

I happend to be there just as he finished and he road tested it. Seemed to have a bit more exhaust note standing away from the car. When he came back he said "it's too quiet!" After driving the car myself I can say it's just as quiet on the inside as my stock exhaust at all speeds.

No more exhaust fumes in the car from many leaks, but he did point out a couple of trunk gasket points where there was a "dust trail" into the trunk and he suggested getting that fixed as exhaust could seep into truck...and cabin on certain conditions at highway speeds.

Thumbs up Re: Need Good exhaust pic..

That is what we have on both of our SVX's. We have DYNOTEC tips from Motorsport on ours. They are little larger than stock. Most people think they're stock tips.

Re: Need Good exhaust pic..

That actually looks pretty good, in terms of layout.

What it takes up in additional weight, it likely gives back in ground clearance under the rear suspension compared to a larger diameter single pipe, in terms of cross section for flow volume being equal.

I wonder if a pre-made X-pipe could even be used, to really cross-equalize. The dual resonators look good.

It kind of makes me wonder if the Aero mufflers would sound good on the flat 6, in that sort of dual-muffler arrangement.

Although, my favorite sound that I have heard on sound clip videos so far has to be the stebro system, which someone captured at the Reading meet... That system is single run and muffler, with dual tips. Normal open flow sound at idle, and then an exotic-car scream at high revs...

Re: Need Good exhaust pic..

The Stebro does sound pretty good, although that is the only one I have heard other than the various arrangments I've tried one mine. I actually like the way my duals sound alot better than the stebro, they are alot throatier and more rumbly.

Re: Need Good exhaust pic..

My car sounds like a ferarri with my dual set up i got . i like it for the most part. if you can though and i'm gettin ready to have my dad switch mine are the tips. go with a more round style tip if you want more of a deeper sound. my dad explained this to me after he did my exhaust with the flat tips and i didn't like the high pitchness around 2000 rpm's.
