Exclamation Exhaust problem....

Okay, I know I posted a couple years back about my Stebro exhaust not being sealed at the muffler/straight pipe joint, and since I need to get it inspectable, I took a good look under there this weekend and discovered the straight pipe wasn't even bolted up anymore.... the sealing gasket is crumbled to junk, and the exhaust clamp is rotted away to almost nothing. (EDIT: Both pipes, however, are in good shape)

Question is, is the stock sealing gasket the same size as the Stebro??

Alternatively, since the damn stock gaskets are like, $60 in subaruparts.com..... has anyone had success using a 3" to 3" join pipe and some u-bolts? I bought the parts but I don't feel as though it's going to seal right since the 3" area is at the outward flare on both pipes................

Any advice from those who know?
