Pulling codes

Can someone please give my the low down on how to properly pull codes from the svx. I tryed looking in the How to documents but I think I am missing some operating software as I cant get anything to open. So if anyone has a link or something with pics I would be very greatful. I pretty much know how to count the blinking light I just need to know a few details about the process. Where the plug or connector is and what to do to pull them and clear them. How to read the codes once pulled, stuff like that.
