Great looking SVX TiC... maybe I'll get to see it in person
I have no idea what it is to enter. I'm not racing in this one as it would be my first time out this season, and it would just be embarrassing when coupled with the fact that I've never autoX'd the 08.

I STRONGLY suspect that I'm going to end up reinventing the wheel on a number of things. I've been trying to read the two SVX boards as quickly as I can, but information is all over the place.

a good example is the brembo thread - Tom was working a main thread for months then suddenly it was dead. Then months later a new one picks up with the conclusion. Great if you've been following along since 2005. Not so great if you're just joining in (like the newb that I am). I'm going to try and keep as much of my findings here so it's all in one place, and easily found.

Yeah - it wasn't 15. Heck, that's even less than my cost on one of those sets. I'm gonna guess that the common way is to cut some rubber or fill with window weld. Can you point me in a direction?

Also, can anyone clue me in on some other critical/common mods so I don't spend time researching or fixing something that's already been done?

The 15/15 mod was introduced here by SVXfile's. I think he has some links in his signature??

I didn't mean to sound like I was knocking what you guys are doing. It's great to see some aftermarket parts coming to us.

Lastyear Earthworm put together a group buy on some bushings, you may want to search out that post...

Is the plan to keep the car automatic?

Same here. There are quite a few applications that already have sound, lowcash solutions. Didn't we have a thread (actually, two) with a list around here?

I need to pull the mounts and measure them. I have a suspicion that we have easy access to something else that'll work.

For now although we do have an 06 6MT sitting here with the 1.1:1 transfer gear so that should mate right up with the stock final drive... We'll see what happens on that front.

Re: The TiC project SVX

If you are using the 6mt, I would highly suggest getting the R180 to match. The LSD alone is worth the extra cost as the vlsd in the SVX is lame to say the least. SVXRide put an R180 in his 3.90 5mt and spent a bundle more just to have the LSD in the rear...

Yeah.... I keep going back and forth on that... we'll see on the tranny. I'm still not sure on that one.

I would like to catch a ride in one with a 4.11 or 4.44 just to see how it feels.

Re: The TiC project SVX

Thanks guys for taking the time to produce actual parts aimed at performance and improving the handling of the SVX... Unlike other retailers who have been around for a long time *cough* DAYLE! *cough* yet still only offer body kits and thinks to make your car look cool but none the faster... I am into performance driving and I want parts available to improve the handling of my car, not make it look like it's going faster. So thank youguys for doing this. As I said on the other boards, if you want me to test anything in Autocrossing just let me know. I Love autocrossing (Ask anyone who was at the event in MD this past weekend) and am anxious to get some more suspension goodies. Possibly upgrade my current Koni / GC setup to something with alittle more adjustability :P

Oh, I wanted to let youguys know. DMS was working on camber castor plated for the SVX last year. I was suppose to get a set from them but they kinda fell off the face of the earth so I just bought stock ones again. They also have an offroad suspension and a "Race" suspension for the SVX... But at $4,500 a pop it was alittle out of my price range ...

And YT is the only one on the face of the Earth (as far as I know) who has ever installed them on an SVX. Cranked in 2 degrees of additional negative camber in about 5 minutes Saturday night in OT's garage. The plates are probably good for ~4-6 degrees on top of what the stock camber bolts can give you (which is ~-1.75 degrees)
