Cool The first ever 4.44 GT-FWD

As many of you know, I thought that my flexplate was cracked. But when YT took a look at it, the diagnosis was different. Something in my front(and only) diff was bad. I forget what Tom told me it was, but it was important enough that I needed it done, and quick. The only diff that he had at the shop was a 4.44. Well in about 6hours, YT with the help of a couple people had the bad parts out, and the good ones in.

The price was resonable, something a 17yr old who works 2-3days a week could afford. If you ever need tranny work done in a hurry, then YT is the person to go to. I'm getting my 5Speed done by him sometime next year also, so to be a repeat customer means he does good work.

As for the results,z0omg. The difference in the gearing is like night and day. I haven't really got on it from a stop yet, but the acceleration incredibly faster. Of course being a FWD 4.44 there's gonna be wheel spin, but not as much as I thought there would be. I'll have to wait til it rains to really notice the wheelspin

98.5 and later transmissions. These were the VTD style with the spin on filter. It also had a bias of 40/60 front rear split.

Someone put their name on the 5 speed list I think it was for the 5EAT.... in their new legacy.

I remember someone was trying to get a 5 speed paddle shift like the guy over in Europe converted, but never saw any progress on it.
