my interior idea. good price?

my svx has the charcoalish color leather seats, with the grey suede on the dash and the doors.

i want to get my seats reapoulstered, since mine are pretty torn up.
i was thinking of leaving the sides of the seat(where it goes up) the same material, and putting the same suede thats on the dash in the center of the seat. like where your back and ass/thighs touch the seat.

i told an interior guy who is also a regular customer at my shop, and he said he would do it for $150. and ill probably tip him some cigarettes or a water pipe or something.

does that sound like a fair price? i havn't shoped around yet.

Sounds like a pretty good price actually. But if you are going to tip him a water pipe, you should at least give him something to go with it. Say maby some Cheetos?

They had seats exactly like you are describing as a stock option on LS models in 1992. They were changed to all suede in 1994 on the LS.

My '91 JDM Claret car had a finish a bit like that :Japanese picture

However, the external parts that look like leather were actually synthetic, and did not wear well.

What you suggest is actually a good plan. Make sure you buy the correct weight of Ecsaine. The material on the dash and on the door cards is much lighter than that used for seating, and will not be tough enough for seats.

In fact if you can get it, the perforated Ecsaine Subaru is currently using for the STI would look the bizz.

st. pattricks day cheeto's?

yah i just saw a car in the for sale section with that option. i thought someone just had the same idea as me. i can try to find my own materials and get done for cheaper.

but i just found an svx in pheonix that looks real clean. and mine has an annoying tick and a tiny bit of frame damage. i mite buy that one and sell mine for cheap. the loss in money would be alot less than if i just went out and got the things on my car fixed.
