I guess the 08 UJA Impreza isn't being received real well

A friend just bought one. It was $800 cheaper than the same optioned 07 he prefered. Guess the local steelership is content keeping their 40+ 07 stock up front while keeping the 08s hidden at the back of the lot, far enough away from the Foci across the street at the Ford dealer.

The new Imprezas are doing very well here. We sold out of our first shipment within 2-3 weeks.

Dealers will keep there oldest inventory up front and on display because they want to clear it out ASAP.

Also, Subaru has been consistently lowering the MSRP of their vehicles over the past couple of years. The goal is to bring the price closer to the "transaction" price and help eliminate haggling and rebates.

Obviously that isn't the case at lcm. The sticker price on the 08 was $200 more than the 07 he was looking at so even if the MSRP is lower the sticker was actually higher yet he paid $800 less. Doesn't sound like they've elimated haggling or rebates in the least. I could find no dealer incentives or the like by researching through Automotive news that would illustrate a better deal on an 08 than a 07.

They actually steered him towards it from the get go even when he said he was very happy with his 93 Imp and was just ready to upgrade to the newer one. The perfect person to onload that old inventory on!

I've still yet to see it or any 08 Imp on the road. Considering the high volume of Subies in the area (see at least 3 B-9s a day!) it definately doesn't spell success yet in my opinion.

Yeah I'm not sure how it ended up here. My computer cookies have been acting strangely lately.

I saw one on the road a few weeks ago - a sedan. It looked a lot like a corolla.

never see them on the road (08 impreza) but the salesman that sold me the baja told me they sold all the wagons quick but they had plenty of sedans left. He said they lowered the price of them too. Didn't know that.

the new Imprezas are yawn inducing boring-looking Malibu/Mazda/Corolla lumps.

the previous "vagina-nose" Imprezas are strange-looking, and by strange i mean extremely ugly.

as much as i hate the new ones, its a slight improvement over the last ones.

They're selling pretty well here. I saw 3 on the drive home, which is two more than any other model of Subie. I kinda like the hatch. Can't stand the sedan though.

don't get me wrong, the new ones have much suck, but the previous ones are just plain goofy-looking.

the new Tribeca, which is as boring as the new Imprezas, at least doesn't look stupid anymore. boring, but not stupid.

Eh, but the stupid pignose ones...Were prettymuch the same as their predacessors. Id imaine it's pretty esy to swap an 05 fron end onto an 07. The new imprezza is..Well, unfixable. the ass end of the hatch looks like everything else with a hatch (round) and the front end of all of them ...I think the guy who drew the line there the bumper meets the grill and the headlights was drunk. Why no straight line? And why the hell did they have to make the headlights all pointed at th one corner, so an aftermarket company coudnt fix it with a new grill and bumper combo?

They did a horrid job, 99% of the intwerweb agrees. I bet they give it a facelift ithin the next 2 years, and a complete redesign withing the next 3

i think you'd have to swap the hood, too, because that stupid urinal grille fits up into the hood.

the new STi is just as dumb - the STi should NOT have a smiley-face grille. it should be menacing or something. i hate hatchbacks, too. yeah, i hate it.
