IAC + throttle body cleaning.
I am having a rough warm idle problem ... I wanted to eliminate possible causes before I replace the ECU.
I have swapped in a working MAF, so that issue is eliminated. I have cleaned out the TPS, so, should I clean up the throttle body and intake air control? Or just stay far, far, away from these? Are there any pics posted of these objects, and a howto? |

i'v'e had rough idle issues ~ when car is warmed up - i was told that it was a bad coil. and then i replaced the engine (head gaskets blew) and more recently i am having rough idle as well...now it's rough idle even when on a cold start..?/ changed out half the ignition coils and i'm looking to do the other half tomorrow (hopefully).
i have no clue anymore at this point. if it's still bad when i change out the other side...i'm going to clean out the throttle body and IAC when it warms up a little more. out of curiosity. what are symptoms of bad plugs? i went to take out the ecu before to do the crush mod....and there was no bead to crush

I cleaned up the throttle body and IAC .... All the hoses are good, and I added hoseclamps to kill any vacuum leaks.
But I am still getting rough stumbling when warm ... right at 60 MPH ... and now while waiting at the light. The waiting at the light stumbling goes away when I put it in neutral ... I am beginning to suspect a transmission problem. I opened the IAC a bit more to increase idle RPMs ... the 60 MPH stumble is less noticeable, but the waiting at the light stumble is now worse. Arrgh. |
