for those fwd's
i have an awd tcu with my fwd tranny right now, because i did an awd swap, blew the front diff, and swapped backed to fwd and was too lazy to change the tcu, but what i am getting at is i love having this tcu, i am sure everyone here is aware of the "40" drop on these cars being rediculously slow, well the awd tcu shifts down to first from about 43 and down, causing a good push into the seat, also in second the tcu allows you to go all the way to the rev limiter (7 thousand) when you are in drive, the only draw back is when you are floored you have to let off for a quick second to allow it to shift, ( i go completetly off the throttle then completely floored as quick as possible and that is enough time)

I really don't understand what you are saying, are you saying theres a difference between the fwd tcu and the awd tcu if so it could be due to the fwd have a 3.70 final versus he 3.5o for the awd, explain a little farther you may be on to something that was tried years ago.

What year was your TCU from? I have never been able to get mine to rev past 6500... the TCU always forces the shift even without letting off the gas.

Well I have a 94 fwd and it will shift a 7k,but I RECALL someone using a 92 computer on a 94 fwd to increase the shiftpoints or something. Also I don't think my car came with the speed limiter, because of the topspeed is somewhere around 155 but the car stops pulling prior to that, all of which was clocked by two sport bikes keeping pace and a mercedes e430 which will run 155.

Odd that my '92 (and a lot of others) have a 6500 rev limiter. Not sure about the speed limiter (or what their supposed speed was)... I never noticed a hard fuel cut at any speed. However, I wonder if it could have been more advanced than most cars at the time and actual started killing power by reducing timing or something to that affect.

From what I've read is that the early model say the 92s tested by car and driver would rip off 7k shiftsand later models shifted at 65k,also when the fwd svx was tested the times were like 15.4 but with a better trap speed. Also motortrend did a fwd and awd test with the svxes and eclipes an both fwd car would catch the awd car by the 1/4 and walk alway.Gearing, weight is the main factor for the svxes, but as horsepower increases I'll perfer awd.

well it is a 92 awd tcu in a 94 fwd svx, and the car does not necisarrily shift at 7k, it just hops off the rev limiter until i lift off for a second and let it shift, but i have noticed a problem and i am not sure if my tranny is acting weird or the tcu, i was floored through second, and into third, at about 5k in 3rd the car kept trying to shift back down into second, i had to let off and get back on it again to let it stay in 3rd, also there is a slight hesitation in the 1-2 shift, like the car cuts out for a quick second and then shifts

The tcu may be looking for two other wheels to push or your tps needs adjustment.

thanks for the input, i was thinking of the extra two wheels theory, but i didnt think of the tps, i will probably look at it sometime this week if i am not too lazy
