Miles and gas prices

Just got a new job, and now commute 40 miles one way so I put on a good 500 miles on a week and am was thinking what everyone else does? Also what are current gas prices where you are from. Saw the low price of $2.91 today

I have a 44 mile round trip and go to base about 4-5 times a week. I paid $3.58/Gal today.

I do about the same right now. but gas is at the corner for 2.97 Which is ussually the cheapest in the area, there is a shell that I think is at 2.92 right now, but I havn't been over there for a couple days.

Go Shell! Thats pretty much all I put in my SVX. Plus the station I go to has a "cash" price and "credit" price. Usually the cash price is right on with the On-base gas.

26 miles round trip...add another 10 to pick up the wife on my way home from work every day. Paid $2.95/gal (93 octane) yesterday at the Shell by my house.

Of course my SVX is still up on jackstands so I'm still driving my turbo Grand Am. Only getting 15-17 mpg. I can increase my gas mileage by 30% by keeping the boost gauge from going into positive pressure.....yeah right, like that's possible

Roughly 10 miles from home to work. Street lights are timed by computers so they change at the exact time, exact pattern every day, and if I leave my house at 6 after 7am, I will get there at 7:22 regardless of speed. If traffic is light I might be able to keep a constant speed.
Gas is hovering summabouts $3.

My drive to work is just under 12 miles each way. By the time the tranny warms enough for the TC to hook-up, I'm there, thus fuel economy suffers a bit. (This is offset by superb highway MPG.) This morning the cheapest gas to be had in these parts (Marathon) was $3.019 for 93-octane premium. I passed a little full-serve, no-name joint in The Middle of Nowhere, Tennessee last night that offered the same for $2.89. Maybe ten miles separates those stations, and Tennessee's fuel taxes are higher. Curious.

88-mile round trip commute here. most recently, i paid $2.649/gallon for 85 octane regular unleaded in my 36 mpg hyundai elantra. i did drive teh svx to work one day last week and had the privilege of spending $44 to fill his tank.

GO HYUNDAI! Haha. I bought a '95 Elantra 1.6 last week for $500. Has bad compression in one cylinder so the head is getting pulled this week. As soon as it's running I'll be diggin' the high mpg and enjoying the $$ saved each week in gas.

the 2.0 litre in the newer models allow them to move out of their own way. i might even be a little disappointed when both of them are gone.

I normally put 150miles/week on my SVX. Gas is the equivalent of about $3.50/USGAL here.

Enjoy your Hyndai (they are good for MPG), but they have the worst re-sale value.
