1) Its in mothballs 400 miles away

2)Passenger window 'busted' some how (doesn't line up, and 'falls' an inch when lowering it)

3)trip meter busted (can I take another instrument cluster, and put them together to make work?)

4) The rear wheel well rust has begun.

5) To many door dings and tiny dents

6) Spoiler chips

7) "melted" shifter trim

I think thats it...4-6 being the really annoying ones, because I can't afford a high quality paint job.

And I can't diagnose the window problem... I have a parts car, but the window hardware looks really difficult...

Meh, I count myself lucky, Mechanically beautiful all the way around.

James

These folks have a product that can be used to make the AC work better, is environmentally safe, much cheaper and does NOT require retrofitting!

http://autorefrigerants.com.

Several Network folks have used this product and are quite pleased with results. My order should be here tommorrow.

I "retrofitted" my R-12 '92 to R134 with a shelf kit from advancs auto a few weeks ago 'benebob' style.
so far so good - blowing nice and cold and haven't lost any pressure. Time will tell if the seals start to leak or the compressor self destructs but the way I figure compressors are pretty cheap on ebay with the number of butchers parting svx's these days and if it doesn't work eventually I can swap a new one in.

About every orifice capable of leaking fluid of some sort is leaking. but that's all being fixed.

I have to gently press up on the back of the sunroof to get it to lift initially. then it's fine.

My switches for the console on the driver's side are ass, so i took them out and use a safety pin.

The ashtray (since it was a smoker's car) dosen't lift when you press it anymore

everything else is fine, actually.

- Missing engine cover plastic screw
- Ashtray pocket and ashtray door backing snapped
- Gap in the bottom of the Double DIN slot
- No beauty skirt around my head unit

I found this thread while searching for "tie rod". I liked this one, so I am resurrecting it. I updated my original post, leaving only the still-broken stuff. After spending a ton on my Pearlie this year, things are getting better (slowly). Here are some new problems:

- 1500rpm buzzing noise (resonator?)
- Air conditioning gave out sometime this winter and needs a charge
- Radio antennae doesn't go up
- Badly worn floormats
- Spolier is loose
- Down to about 180 miles per $60 of gas @ 135.9/L even while driving like your grandma
- Driver's sun visor hangs down at a 45 degree angle, passenger's droops too
- Missing kick panel by driver's left foot
- Hood struts are there for decoration only
- Escaine worn badly on both doors (where hands go to pull the beastly doors shut)
- Dipstick pops up a half inch and won't stay down
- Sunroof needs a poking to get going while opening
- Rear wiper fluid squirter non-functional, which allowed me to find out:
- Rear wiper fluid tank leaks
- Slow leaking steering rack
- Scratches in both driver and passenger windows from worn/dead felt pads
- Bass makes my license plate buzz (loose)

Edit: The 93 is awesome. Only problem with her is the plastic strip along the floor of the drivers door broke off its clips.

My turn again. Since I already posted about the Claret. This is what is wrong with the Emerald Pearl.

-needs a transmission put back in
-I'm still working on cleaning up the interior...especially the carpet
-droopy sun visors..both
-chipped spoiler
-needs a stock tape player or another radio

That's pretty much it. Lucky me.

Classic SVX
1. I've got the t-belt off and forgot how everything goes back togethor. Had some pressing issues and had to let it sit for several months.
2. Noticed some more oil leaks - not from the cam seals that I just replaced. - Prob valve cover related.
3. car needs paint bad
4. aftermarket Wheels don't match. Close but no match - came that way.
5. All oils need to be changed. Just invested a small fortune in amsoil.
6. no hood struts - just have a stick to hold the hood up.
7. no water sprayers for front window. Whoever put on CF hood just left them off.
8. wires melted on top of the AC compressor but it still works.
9. want to get rid of cone intake and go back to stock - hope parts are in trunk.
10. Prob need a new batt
11. prob Need plugs
12. anntennae has a mind of it's own after installing aftermkt radio.
13. Radio door cover hangs on something.
14. window controls loose in armrest.
15. rear wiper doesn't work.
16. It's starting to get that 'old car smell' inside
17. Idle is very low at stop lights
18. Condensation in rear lights.
19. front lights are far from clear
20. droopy visors
21. haven't even started it for 6 mos.

Now I'm feeling kind of depressed...who brought this thread back?
