Tell ya what, I'm going to have a party out at my place that weekend, I live just 2 minutes north of Winnipeg, and I've got a bunch of land, we can have a show and shine, bon fire, etc. that is if everyone is up for it. Anyone is also welcome to set up a tent if it is warm enough. I've also got an ex-barn that is just used for storage and people can crash in there if you want. It's two stories and really comfortable to crash in. There's also lots of room to park around it.

It may also be a good idea if you have an FRS radio or 2 to bring it with you. That way if we lose anyone while on a drive they won't get away.

I have a couple extra "not-so-good" ones I could lend if need be.

Just sent the email off to my company's schedule requests queue. Fingers crossed. As soon as I get word one way or the other, I'll either add myself to the list or tell you it ain't gunna happen. Hope the weather is nice enough to have the 19s on by then.

Also, Earthworm: If I am able to stay at your place, can I stay Friday night and Saturday night? Maybe we'll all end up in a barn as noted above. Who knows? I will be detailing my car in SOMEONE'S driveway! (...or barn)

I'll definitely have my summer tires on by then.

I have not yet checked into accomodations. I know it won't matter if it's one night or 2.

I'll provide nearby hotel information for those who prefer their privacy.

Hey David

What are the good cheap hotels up there. My wife does not like the idea of the baby sleeping in the barn. The little one like to close doors.

I'll look into that for you. We do have a Howard Johnson Inn

Here's a good reference site:

Excellent! I'm working on scheduling activities for rain or shine. No one will be disappointed...unless they don't show up.

How bad would it be to stay at the Ramada downtown. Portage Ave and Smith St
How far from the events and you?

Well downtown is (obviously?) the middle of Winnipeg. I'm located in the west end of Winnipeg. I'll probably make up a map and mark off the points of interest for our meet.

I'd like to come, but as I said in the PM, I'm looking at complications with getting the time off. Winnipeg is a 3-day drive from London. I used to live in Sault Ste. Marie, only a two-day drive, and my parents still live there, so accomodations are set for one night, at least.

I'd basically need a week and a half off. 3 days there, 3 days back, and Friday, Saturday, Sunday for the meet.

I'll try to keep my schedule open for it, but I can't make any promises.
