Ignition Switch
My ignition switch works fine, However, there is a lot of grinding in the tumblers when I turn the key. The key doesn't get stuck and the car starts every time but I'm afraid that with all of the grinding that I'll get stranded sooner or later. Is it possible to replace the tumblers inside of the ignition switch and retain the original keys so that I won't have to carry a seperate key for the doors?

Yes it is, as long as you have a locksmith do it for you.

When the key is worn down it might wear the lock tumblers. It may be worthwhile to get a new key made from the key code and NOT a copy of a worn key.
