Is that an SVX under the cover? On the Gran Turismo cover?

I was searching around the net and came across the original US cover for the first Gran Turismo being posted within a topic on a RSX forum. The that topic on the forum got a bit out of control, but there are two things mentioned there that got me thinking. One could be that there is an SVX under the cover, either that or like someone else said a 1st generation DSM. Also, someone mentioned that each car that is displayed on the cover of every Gran Turismo is a car which Kazunori Yamauchi (president of Polyphony and head developer of the Gran Turismo series) owns or owned, yes including that GT40.

I then thought about if that is indeed an SVX under and how Gran Turismo 1 is only one in the series that ever contained the Subaru Alcyone SVX. So I put two and two together and figured that Kazunori Yamauchi must have hated the SVX so he didn't put it in any other Gran Turismo and no future ones either.

Can anyone write a letter to him to why he potentially hates the SVX?

Ok maybe not hate, more like dislike but what gets me is that they can put a Daihatsu Move, Max, as well other Susuki and other JDM K-Cars, also even the Toyota Sera, Toyota SERA and a bunch of others I cannot think of but they don't add the SVX. Another error in judgement is when they added the Mistubishi Galant VR4, but failed to put in a pre-1994 Legacy GT. I think I concured with other people on another forum that KY doesn't like Subarus and puts them in more for the sake of content nessisity. But I can't argue with a person's opinion and I should expect it to reflect his work.

But back to the picture above, just look at of the tip of the front plus the top contor right behind where the side mirrors should be and tell me that doesn't look like an SVX.

Or you could have a point of it being a Firebird, considering this is a US cover for Gran Turismo. But if that theory of Kazunori Yamauchi owning every car displayed on the front cover comes to play, how did he get the money at that time, when the Gran Turismo series wasn't at its highest swing, to import a Firebird? I think the SVX would have been an ideal car for the cover, it has a sleek overal shape which is just as clear when covered, unlike the Skyline or WRX at that time it is a Japanese sports coupe that was imported to the US. And since not many people knew about it, it would make the ideal "generic" sports car shape mysteriously lurking under the cover.

Actually come to think of it looking at the hood, upper frame and back of the thing you might be right. But lets see what some other people have to think about what it is, and whether there is a way to get the SVX back into the Gran Turismo series.

You are correct, and there was actually a specialized race where you could only race an SVX in GT2

I think he got it.

You can see the turn signal through the cover.

Nah, look at the rear fender, theres definitly a flare like the svx you can see the line is quite distinct, doesnt mean it is one though, what other cars have that sort of flare? (referring to the 3000gt)

Could be DSM, the tail lights definitly dont match up to an SVX.
