I'm glad to see that someone has decided that they dont want to deal with owning an SVX prior to buying one - I hate to see them abused or neglected.

I must agree. I paid close to $6,000 for my SVX and since I race it like Tomssvx, I've needed to replace 2 transmissions, the rear bearings, and do a few other maintenance things on the car over the last 1.5 yrs of ownership... (new engine seals, spark plugs, knock sensors, etc.) However, the $ I've spent is by far the best investment I've ever made hands-down!

My SVX has yet to leave me stranded, and it's easily the greatest sports car I've owned to date (owned a 300ZX TT, Camaro and SVT Lightning)! I think Benebob said it best when we talked at the Hagerstown drag meet - the build quality and attention that went into building the SVX far exceeds that of newer cars on the road today.

The Evo & WRX/STI feel mass-produced (which they are), while other cars like the NSX do not. To truly own an SVX, you need to have an appreciation and admitration of its unique styling, performance and qualities. This car isn't for everyone!

Although I enjoy driving a rare car that you don't see everyday, I still wonder why everyone wants to jump on the bandwagon of EVO/Srt-4/STI owners/leasers/loaners. I also don't understand why the bandwagon doesn't speed up when jokers try to jump on and let them fall and roll away in the street

Have you even driven an Evo or Sti Tom? If not, I can assure you the experience is without parallel in vehicles costing less than 100 K. I believe this was the basis for the engineering principal Subaru and Mitsubishi used in designing the finest street worthy rally cars on the planet. And I also believe the Sti is the better engineered car of the two. In fact, for the money, the Sti is the best high performance bargain on the planet.

I've driven both. The STI impresses me more than the Evo, but I'll take my SVX anyday as it fits my needs better. Actually, if I ever added a turbo'd car to my garage, I'd either get an '05 Legacy 2.5GT or '04/'05 Forester XT.

me tooo... in my opinion STi is far better than Evo (eitehr at performance or looks).

Living in Bellevue and looking at number of Subarus overhere i was really amazed. I have never seen that many in number while living in Dayton. I can tell for sure, in every 10 cars passing by, I can see atleast 1 subaru .

I have not driven either of the two cars. They are in no sense a luxury gt car like ours. Regaurdless of a 5mt or not, it still has the sleek smooth style that these cars lack. Not to mention, I am a man who enjoys the blood sweat and tears dropped into a car to make it what it is. Buying a car like that from the factory only contains blood sweat and tears ripped out of the bank. Just IMHO though. If you think buying performance standard is exciting, then go with it. i believe in building it
