Thumbs up My gas mileage just keeps getting better!

When I previuosly had 4.11 gears on my car, I averaged around 21.5mpg in mixed city & highway without a/c, and ~25mpg on the highway when cruising at 75mph.

Since having 4.44 gears on my car for over a month, my last couple of fill-ups have been amazing. On one tank in mixed city & highway driving I got just a tad over 23mpg with my a/c running 60% of the time, while on my last tank with 70% highway driving at speeds that approached 90mph (I was following a really quick Forester XT in the fast lane ) I averaged 26mpg while running my a/c 90% of the time!!!

Guess the higher revs from my 4.44's haven't hurt my mileage in any way??? I've actually found that I dip into my throttle less due to the added mechanical advantage from the shorter gearing...

Interesting. Let hope it continues to get better, or at least stay that good.

I think maybe it's because you are getting to top gear faster/easier.

i've been averaging about 15-16mpg in the LGT.

its been all city driving with the AC cranked continuously for the last few weeks, though.

the Cobb stage1 is too much fun to drive granny style, anyways! fuel economy be damned! i will miss the "economical" SVX, though.

...yeah, but now that you've said something it's just a matter of time until something happens and your fuel consumption skyrockets. Tsk, tsk. You should know better than to post good news to a public forum. Mr. Murphy is probably reading this right now. You're doomed.

But congratulations anyway. (Maybe the bad luck fairy will leave us alone as long as somebody else is a better target.)
