Talking Tires, Tires, Tires

So what kinda of tires are you currently using on your SVX and what pressure do you run them at???

Bridgestone Potenzas on stock rims, about 38 front/34 rear. (I think spec is 33/29.) They were on the car when I bought it 22,000+ miles ago, and they ride well and are holding up fine. Not crazy about traction in the wet, though, so I might ask around for recommendations when the time comes to buy more.

Summer:
Falken Azenis ST-115 225/45-17 44 front, 40 rear.

Winter:
Hankook W404 Winter Radials (Studdable, but no studs) 205/55-16 on stock wheels. Could care less what the pressures are. When I check/refill I set them to 35 front 32 rear.

Hancook 245/45/16s on Di's, Nick's and Dave's, and Hancook 225/45/17s on my Claret.
Double A traction, fairly quiet, and OK wear. In the spring/summer/fall
but ,,,
snow traction is minimal on the 16s, and nonexistant on the 17s

BF Goodrich Traction T/A, 225X50X16, V-rated, 42 PSI in front, forget the rear, but it's whatever makes the loaded radius the same size (I think about 32).

Good ratings at Tire Rack and tread looks pretty good with about 10K miles on them, much quieter than the Fulda tires they replaced, no snow here, but unable to spin them in the rain.

I'm running all season sumitomo tires. I'm also using 33 PSI in the front and 29 in the back as recommended. Is it bad to go above the recomended PSI ratings?

It depends on what you are doing with your ride,,, Higher pressures give you more controlled slide, less rolling resistance, quicker input, and some times, less traction...

I use Avid V4's and they stink in wet/snowy conditions

I need to get new tires because they give me very little confidence during rain driving all I do is slide if I brake too hard and there's plenty of tread left.

Thumbs up

Hankook Ecsta ASX on the stock wheels and spec pressure. Great reviews on Tire Rack, and I'm satisfied. Great price, too.

Stock sizes with potenzea RE950's 3 v speed rated one t speed(only 4k miles difference) cause I had a flat and the particular exact model was being discontinued

Dunlop D60/A2 JLB. I use the factory-recommended pressures on the door frame.

This is my second set. I've been thrilled with them, but Dunlop has, of course, discontinued the tire.

I'll probably try something from Sumitomo next. I had Sumitomo HTR-200s on my Justy and they were fantastic tires. They even held up well after a year of autocrossing on them.

I currently have Sumitomo's HTR+'s on stock rims @ stock pressure they are starting to get worn, and don't much care for the ride you get with them (although grip is good),I will most likely go with Avon M550's from TireRack on the American Racing rims I bought from sxewhodey, and then probably put snow tires on the stockers.
