Well Chike I really hate to say it ..... but it's bone stock!!

And according to the speedtrap folks, highest topspeed noted !!

Ok..ok..ok...my resonator is modified, but that's all, honest!!

And even worse......for almost a year ago.... I had a 267km/h run ...

One thing to say though, those STi's are nasty, my friend had borrowed one this weekend, so he run both his crazy tuned WRX and the STi , and I raced them both on a return path from the strip, and lost BIG from standing start, and even when I hit 100 km/h he still was pulling away ....

But when he took a run in the SVX, he could almost say for sure that past 160-170km/h something, the SVX should be able to keep the pace with the STi

Obviusly not with his WRX, because he has a 12.8 sec. 1/4 mile time, so maybe when his rpm limiter stops him at the 5:th gear ....maybe I can pass him

Cool Holy cow...

You're all stock except for the resonator?! You know, on Gran Turismo 2, I'm able to get a stock '95 LSi up to 166mph on the test track. With a 0.29 Cd, I knew that the SVX can pull up to incredibly high speeds...our cars just need a lot of room to get there!

Do the Euro awd SVX's have 3.55 or 3.70 gears?

The EURO version got the 3.55, my has it anyway ...

I'll think that the 3.70 is tooo tough for the engine .... like a over-overdrive

My belief is that the 3.55 produces the highest topspeeds, and you are right there, they need indeed a long runway to reach the highest speeds.

The funny thing is that I have not yet felt that it stops pulling....like it is able to pull forever...just takes a long time to do it

One thing IS very important though, because the EURO version got this special 4WD system, you HAVE to make sure that the tire pressures are "matched" perfectly so it makes the smallest rolling resistance possible (I normally use .2 bars more in front for that to happen).

In the 100+ page Road & Track guide to the SVX, they mention that the euro version has a 0.285 Cd due to the undertray being extended further back.

3.55 gears are good for cruising, but the 3.70's will definitely help with better acceleration times and will also put less strain on the trans as the revs are slightly higher.

That's awesome that you've gone that fast in your SVX!

BTW, what kinda times do you run in the 1/4 mile?

To be honest, I haven't tried a 1/4 mile run with it.

It seems always be the most ppl lining up for that event, looong waits ...

..and I know I don't have a snowbolls chance in hell there, almost everyone seems to run low 13's or high 12's, heheh even my old XT4 did a good low 14 there (14.2 if I remember right)

...But, it should be cool to try ... and one thing with NOT trying is that nobody really knows, given the topspeed they might think the SVX does a low 13 on the 1/4 mile

There are some reports of US cars ('92 models) going 160 mph.

The US cars have a reported CD of 0.290 (without the wing). The 0.005 difference is worth about 3 hp at 165 mph. The 3.70 diff ratio results in about 5800 rpms at 165 mph. The 3.54 diff ratio gives about 5550 rpm at 165 mph.

amazing to see you can get that fast on stock parts. now if only I could do something about that pesky speed limiter (not that I've gotten anywhere near it yet) I could see if I could do the same...

There is NO WAY that you could keep with an STi!!! my brother has one and that thing is just crazy fast. If you were ever infront of him then he was just playing with you!!! The only way a SVX will get an STi is on the top speed b/c the STi governor is set at 147 as where the 92 SVX is at 155. But there is just no possible way for a SVX to get an STi that is ACTUALLY racing!!

'92 and '93 SVXs have no speed limiter. '94 and up models are limited, though - I believe to 143.

I was told the limiter was set at 136mph. Don't know which number is correct though...
