Thumping sound from rear when turning
Hi Guys,
I just replaced a roller bearing in the tranny. I reinstalled the the tranny and everything seemed fine till I made a tight turn and all of sudden a began to hear a series of thumping sounds coming from what appears to be the rear axel. As soon as I straighten out is goes away. I had heard this sound before but only once or twice. Anyone know whats going on and how I can fix it? Thanks |

Your AWD might be "binding." Do a search for that term.

hmm
If its your AWD, put in the fuse that puts the car into FWD mod(check manual for which) and see if it still does it. If it goes away, you have your answer. if not.. keep looking!

I replaced the bearing because it broke and I found the pieces in the front differential oil.
