Nissan parts?

I just got a 91 pathfinder and there seem to be a lot of similarities between a lot of Nissan parts and the svx. Ive heard nissans injectors bolt right in, the disc brake system looks the same, unsure about the bolt pattern. Im sure Im missing quite a many other easy comparisons but is the nissan a nother source for a few parts for the svx and will these cross refereance capabilities actually save any money? Feel free to comment on any similarities youve encountered. Thanks, Mike

Lots of similarities (brakes, rear diff, switches) but most likely no cross-reference.

Yeah, the door unlock/lock switch (by the shifter) is made my Nissan. I made the mistake of showing that to my friends, and now they call it a Nissan whenever they get the chance.

trouble codes

I just had my engine replaced with a low mileage one ,it run very strong,it ran 15.2 at 92, after I put on my other parts from my old motor,it ran 14.77at 95, on motor.I am not going to put nos back on until I get the codes clear.Heres what we have tps,egr,02,fuel injectors. When I warmup the car I have no light, the second I drive off I get the check engine light.I was told too put about 500 miles on the engine an replace the 02 sensors. The motor run strong, but I have the check engine light, also I cleared the codes and they come back

Yes a lot of the car is made by different maker and FHI used off the shelf part bin for a lot of the parts. Like scott pointed out, the central locking (94 and up) switch is from Nissan. The front calipers are if I recall from Mitsubishi (pajaro/montero). In the engine, you are going to find some major parts which are made by someone else too.

It happens very commonly now a days tough since there are only one or two manufacturer for the part bin and it's more cost efficient that way (esp on limited production run cars)

Bearings and such have numbers on them that you can x ref with the manufacturers so you are not really stuck with FHI bearings. There are a couple of other parts too. (Good to have a dad that buys car/carparts for the UN).

The front calipers are the same as Pathfinder/QX4. Rear calipers are the same as 95-99 Legacy wagon.
