Trevor and I got into it on another thread in which I believe he never understood what I was trying to say, always taking it somewhere other than where I intended - attributing to me much of the same characteristics that he painted Porter as having - which was offensive to me, and I called him on it. I offered him the last word on the thread and he took it, stating (my quotes, his words):

"Public debate is a rough and tumble affair and the participants must be vigourous or the exercise is not worthwhile."

Perhaps after some reflection he will remember his own words and rejoin us.

we all are here because we have the same cars but we all are different. We all have our opinions on the things. And everyone has the right to say his opinion. So arguing whos opinion is right and who's is wrong just completely pointless as u never get anywhere. But so far, i thought the forum is just to help each other with our problems with SVX?
Ok Trevor does not need your help, coz he knows much more then most of us here. He was just helping us with our problems, and still we could not give much back. Plus probably we should take into consideration the age of Trevor, and should have some respect to him and starting the fights and say mean things?

I think you understand the reason most of us are here. Unfortunately, there are some that are here for other reasons, or at least for a good argument. Yes, they have the same car, but lack the ability to have respect for others, or lack being tactful when needed. Sometimes all control goes out the window.

No, this is not aimed at anyone, but if the shoe fits wear it. And instead of getting all worked up, maybe consider a change in attitude.

Trevor, you need to calm down and do some reflection of your own. I don't want victory. I don't particularly care one way or another what you or others think of me with regard to our argument.

My statements that were made in anger were just that. If any of you consider me less of a person as a result of it, then that is unfortunate. I am sure all of you have said things in anger that you would have thought better of in another moment. You can't take back what you say on the internet though, and so my statements remain for all to see.

I have been a very long-standing member of the Subaru internet community, though only for the past year and a half on this particular board. My reputation in that community is well established, and while I welcome discussion on technical issues, I am simply not accustomed to being summarily attacked on the basis of my honor or my principles.

Your attempt to pigeonhole me as a "type" of internet user that you despise is both shortsighted and utterly lacking in any understanding of either me personally or the Subaru community at large. I am extremely disappointed that you have chosen to take the petulant way out, and "take your ball and go home," so to speak. If you wish to leave, then do so, but do not use me as your justification.


I think it's rather disappointing that this issue has polarized this board in the way that it has. We are all here for a common reason, and if two members (such as Trevor and myself) have a disagreement, it is quite counterproductive for members to begin lining up and taking sides. There are no prizes to be won here. It's just an argument on the internet.


So in short, GET OVER IT. The argument is long over and continuing to throw jabs in an attempt to perpetuate it is a waste of time and bandwidth. Self-righteous indignation is severely misplaced and has no constructive purpose here.

What is this crap?

I'm a newbie here, and I have no history of what is/has been going on between specific members of the Network, and frankly I really don't care. I come here to try and gain a better understanding of my ride. Post info and experience. It's up to the individual to decide if the post is valid and to do plenty of research.

If anyone has a personal beef with anyone else, send a PM and work it out between yourselves. If you need buddies to back you then include them in your PM.

Bottom line folks. This is ridiculous.

I'm afraid the polarization had already begun. This unfortunate incident was just another straw on the back of the camel and the last for one, if not more who haven't expressed their exit.

I've often thought about turning my back on all of the "misunderstandings" and walking away, and still have inclinations toward doing so, but, each time I do, my childish side returns and I say to myself, "I was here first, darn it, and I shouldn't have to leave."

Let's let this one fade off into the sunset, everyone. Please.
