Smoke!
My car is leaking oil from somewhere and it lands on my exhaust and causes a nice, embarrassing smoke screen at stop lights. I'm sick of the smell, and I'm even more sick of holding my head in shame as other cars look in horror as my car appears to be on fire. The symptoms are more pronounced when I come to a stop at the end of a long highway drive. Is this a common problem? Is it easily fixed? Thanks in advance for the help.

This is not normal. Easy fix? It depends on where the oil is coming from. It could be as easy as your power steering fluid, but could be oil from somewhere else. I would clean the engine and figure out where the oil is leaking first and then go from there. Good luck.

Some have had the PS hose leak at the back of the engine, Px side. The front seal will leak if run it hard. Best wishes for finding the leak and the smoke.

chances are
its one of the PS lines, Pass side back by the firewall
Ones pretty easy to replace, and about $15 the other one is about $150 and takes more time to install Either way Id almost bet thats your problem.

For your sake, I hope its not a 94L with the following VIN: JF1CX3350RK103623.
It all depends on what is leaking and how it all smell. I have my fair share of every type of fluids buring on a SVX before and most likely the easiest fix is your ATF burning. Check your PS hoses and see where it is leaking. If it is not your PS, check your tranny fluid and see if it is burnt. If it is burnt and is brown in colour, start saving money for a new tranny. If it is not ATF fluid burning but oil burning, you have 2 types of oil that can burn. Diff and engine oil. Gear oil smells different from engine oil. But you only get a ton of smoke from one of two things: PS leaking or Engine leaking due to some seal. If it is the engine leaking, you have to see where it is leaking. Also, when you check your fluids, are any of them lower than what they are supposed to be?
