Traded in my SVX

Hate to admit it, especially to you guys, but I did.

There were lots of factors going into the decision. The short form is that I learned, through ownership of this car, that I don't have the dedication and commitment to the marque that's required to properly keep and maintain an SVX. There are a lot of things I'd prefer to do with the time and resources demanded by this lovely and increasingly fragile work of art. I also wanted a more practical vehicle that better fit my needs.

I will miss the refinement, that effortless rush of power, and the daily biceps workout from lifting the trunklid.

I did, however, stay in the family - I traded her in on the car I was originally looking for when I came across and bought the SVX. It's a refrigerator-white '99 Legacy GT Limited with a 5-speed and a little "Subaru - 30 Years in America" badge just forward of the driver's door. It's absolutely mint, with no door dings at all and no wear on the leather interior, and fully loaded (as far as I can tell - a little more research on specs and options is in order).

The Legacy has a few similarities to the SVX - boxer engine, AWD, charcoal interior, yellow headlights, and scratches on the driver's window - so I don't feel that I'm totally out of the fold. I cleaned the headlights first thing.

It's a blast to drive with the 5-speed.

Dick, I'm sorry to hear that you traded in your SVX. On the other hand, I can understand your decision. I hope your Legacy serves you well, and don't be a stranger just because you no longer actually own an SVX.

Dick, It's nice to hear you've found a nice car that you like. With all the horror stories I've been hearing lately with the SVX, I can't say I blame you for selling it.
Good luck!
