Taking it in the shorts! (Vent)

I went to pick up the SVX today from the tranny shop where it has been since the 8th of May. It was being rebuilt after one of the bearings had decided to break apart and spread itself througout the tranny. It has been completely rebuilt.

They had it back together and needed my key fob to disarm the alarm so they could start it, finish filling it with fluid and take it out for the road test. I saw it hit the road (felt great relief) and take off. It came back about 10 minutes later. When the tech didn't come into the waiting room for 15 -20 minutes I went to see what was up. They had it up on a lift with all 4 spinning. It was explained to me that the(a) shifter sensor(?) needed adjustment so that all the parts knew whether it was in Drive, Reverse, Park, etc. Once they did this they spun the wheels some more and looked confident. They took it for another road test, and returned in "limp home" mode. Apparently it would start out in 2nd and then shift directly to 4th (Do not pass go, do not collect $200) <- I couldn't resist that.

The tech thinks it's something electrical. I told him to first look at the changes that were made before he goes chasing electrical ghosts. The first rebuild went off wtihout a hitch. This one is under warranty. But it's taking way too long. I'm in Tampa driving a car without AC. I'm a sales manager with reps in the field that I need to be out working with.

Shirt+tie+no AC+tampa heat+customers=nasty!

I am angry beyond words and there's not a damn thing I can do about it.

I need alot of sympathy and I need it now!

NO prob. But really I'm sure they are just as miffed as you. They have had your car this long, finally get it back together and your there waiting for it, and it is still screwed up. Not a good feeling. If they want to make good they will make your car priority #1 and get you back on the road as soon as possible.

PS. A.C. is for wussies, just roll the windows down.

alright alright...

i am really sorry to hear about your misfortune...it is disheartening to know that there are fellow svxers out there that have no AC...it breaks our hearts. do you wanna help such svxers as

one's without ac
one's without working windows
one's without 5 speed conversions
one's with dying trannies
one's with bad bearings
one's with leaking fluids
one's with bad rotors
one's with bad smells
one's with dimples
one's with scratches
one's without spoilers
one's without leather
one's without sunroofs

they are all out there, there are too many problems to list in this slotted comerical time. but there are out there and they need our help. so please leave wads of cash on every svx you see. these are special cars that need everyone's help

Kelli

hey it can't get any worse, it only has to get better...i wish my window would work, i never had ac in this car...and my tummy hurts....i ate too much pizza for din din...so it has to get better sometime...go tell a bad customer off, it will make you feel better

Couldn't sleep, cryin' about the car..

I was a little unclear earlier. It's the Fiat that has no AC (wussie wind?) not the SVX. SVX has the tranny that don't go.

Freak,

Thanks for that reminder. I don't lose my cool very often and I didn't this afternoon. I'm just more fearful that it won't work for long once they get it going but, thinking about it, they can't be very happy either.

Kelli,

OooOo mean!

Everyone else,

Thanks. Your support {sniff} really makes a {sniff} difference.

Now it's back to bed

Exclamation Time for a Pause!

SVXENO has a legit concern that is not being addressed by the forum. Instead, barbs are hurled at the member that is not (in my opionion) appropriate or helpful.

SVXENO has a concern, he posted that concern and all he gets back is b----llsh--t. Let's grow up and be helpful. I will be sending PM's to members that I feel stepped over the line.

uh gee... sorry newbie... most have fun here... how about you..?

Randy didn't seem to take offence.. (broke SVXen is something we all live with) And while we feel for the fallen... jokes are us!
Randy will soon be driving a fixed (fingers crossed) SVX and again joining the ranks of the driven! He will cross swords with the best and still make this a fun place to visit. Read some posts and chill!

Whow... sounded like I've been listening to Jim Rome again.. Huh?
