Re: fwd to awd conversion, 1994 L

Get an AWD transmission,
driveshaft,
rear subframe,
rear differential and axles,
an AWD TCU,
and get to work!
I have done several.
It sure helps to have a lift and a really good transmission jack!

Had mine converted years ago and still runs awsome, good investment if you break your FWD trans.

Re: fwd to awd conversion, 1994 L

is the gas tank the same, heard most FWD Scoobs have different gas tanks, and most Scoob AWD tanks have a hump indented to clear the main driveshaft.

are rear hubs on a FWD splined, or not? probably need hubs too for back.

why not just get a AWD one? These cars are not ever hard to find. You can search Craigs every week of the year, and come up with 100's always for sale, and not very pricey.

Re: fwd to awd conversion, 1994 L

Gas tank should be the same, especially since there weren't many FWD SVXi.
Should be easy to verify by just crawling underneath and taking a look.
