OK, so today I busted out the Stoptechs (WRX kit, calipres and rotors-dual drilled) I bought and did some fitting. I'm making a basic bracket of heavy-guage aluminum angle to trial fit them and then will get them to a machine shop for a solid bracket. Unlike the STi Brembos in the pics above (thanks Tom!), these use a univeral caliper and a custom bracket. This, as you would expect from Tom's pics, places the caliper too far out from the hub centerline by 1/2" to effectively use the full rotor surface area. Grinding down the WRX bracket would make it too thin to effectively mount the caliper but the CL of the holes and basic design can be used.

Todd

jman- I *may* be interested in your STi brakes if you still have them. I'll let you know later this week.

Tom, if Wilwood does it for less than Stoptech, I am surely interested...
Keep us posted

thats 7mm too small. Not to mention, my measurements have shown me that the calipers will not effectively support a rotor larger than the STi rotor. Check the thread in my sig for the Brembo group buy, they are an even better deal

Do you really think we would have done all this research if we could just use the hub??? No the strut mounting points are different as well as other things

Well. . . It was just an idea. . . I mean there have been times I get so focused on one idea I miss another.

Re: Let's talk Brembo 4 pots

Might have stumbled on a solution to this. A dude in Japan posted pics of STI 4-pot Brembos on his SVX, and said the rotors were from a V36 G37 coupe. Can anyone check the dimensions of those and see whether they make sense?
