My project today...

Well it's not done yet but I couldn't resist a couple teaser shots...

More to come

Sorry about the pic quality. No way around it, my camera just sucks.

Re: My project today...

It's something custom we mixed up at the carquest I used to work at. I was going to use a base black then a red pearl/ arctic ice mid then clear, but I just couldn't afford it right now (poor collge kid ). So it ended up being just a single stage metallic black with a bunch of red pearl in it. The tri-coat would have had more pop, but as it stands, the paint only cost me $28. I know single stage isn't ideal, but it's good quality paint (BASF), and now I won't have to look at a flaking spoiler anymore.

"Ruddy" good job. You should be proud of yourself rather than critical.

Congratulations.

Re: My project today...

Yeah looks good. Real good. I'd like to see a before picture. Also I am curious to see a close up of the orange peel.

Re: My project today...

bah, go look at a 2004 EVO sometime. Whole damn car is orangepeel. The roof on a EVO is as bad as the rockers on a STi.

So don't be too hard on yourself. $28 to not have 15+ year old paint is good.

Re: My project today...

Well, I couldn't really get a good picture of the orange peel, but its definitely there on the roof, but the rest laid surprisingly flat. Overall, I'm happy with it, and curious to see what it looks like in the sun. Next project is that flaking bumper...

And I think Mitsu is famous for crappy factory paint. 2 cars ago I had an 02 Eclipse, and the paint sucked.

Before pics.

Re: My project today...

Yeah, I definitely like it better with the black over red.
