Are all front SVX spindles the same?

Hi just bought a SVX to swap the drive train into my WRX and I have quickly relised that there is several issues. The first and only on the front is the ball joint size. My donor car is a 92 and i was wondering if all svx's have small ball joints or are the later ones like the rest of subarus' with large ball joints? I came across one thread where a guy had made a reference to two different hub sizes but I wasn't sure if what he was referring to was what i am looking for.

Not sure about that one-I would guess that these ball joints are unique to the SVX...Almost all of the suspension components if not 100% are unique to the SVX and unlike anything in any other subaru

Re: Are all front SVX spindles the same?

That might have been my post you read. I was researching the swap-ability of Impreza suspension bits and wondered if the spindles could be brough over.

Short version: Not gonna work. The SVX knuckle is to thick to fit nicely into the WRX struts, the balljoints don't match, control arms are not swapable. Another bit of info is that the SVX wheel bolts pattern is 5x114.3, and the WRX is 5x100, so you'd also need new wheels that are meant for an STi.

But there is good news! The splines of the SVX axle are the same as any other Subaru, so you should be able to run WRX hubs without any troubles. (I would suggest you check on this with the manual swap guys who have more experience though)

And yes, all SVX spindles are the same. The only difference is that some don't have an ABS sensor.
