more tranny issues

Much like subie59, my 92 svx daily driver with 90k has begun having tranny issues. I drove it for an hour then pulled in for cofee and could not back out of the parking space. It feels like it went into reverse but nothing happened. It has done this 3 times since then. I had the tranny flushed and filter changed but to no avail. The tranny shop told me the filter and fluid "had alot" of metal filings.

any thoughts??

Metal shavings are not a good sign. I'd start looking for a replacement transmission asap. Sorry

Wicked - started a couple days ago - had a tranny shop quote me 4-5 k to rebuild mine which seemed excessive since I have a quote for a factory remanufactured for $1600 plus core charge and another for a high performance tranny and torqu converter for around $2600

Needless to say - still looking

It is....
OT found me one with a bit of mileage (of course FWD is a bit harder to come by) for 300. All said in done Cost me less (if I had gone up to OT instead of him coming here ) then 800.
