Front speaker request
has anyone tried these speakers for fronts in their SVX. Hertz esk165s with separate tweeters. I have heard that the speakers should not be any deeper than 2inches. These appear to be 2.25 inches deep. anyone know specifically how deep is too deep.
http://www.audison.de/hertz/energy/esk165s.html Does anyone have other front speaker recommendations. I've used the search feature but can't really get much specific information.

Re: Front speaker request
i have a set of MB Quart components in my doors. What I did to avoid the small amount of mounting depth is to use the stock bracketing. It does require to cut out the old speaker, but it is well worth it because you will give yourself an extra little space. The stock tweeter placement is hard to do. I had to use a bracket to hold the aftermarket tweeter in the dash. It takes time, but its better than relocating the tweeter.

Re: Front speaker request
Get whatever speakers you want.
Then when you go to mount 'em up, if they don't fit, stop by your nearest reputable sound place. Get them to make you some mounting adapter plates out of fiberboard, for about $20. It's what I did, I couldn't find any speakers in the size I needed that I liked. Plus I tripped across the pair of Boston Acoustics I have up front for super cheap...

Re: Front speaker request
My local future shop has a set of Pioneer TSG1642R for $25. They are 1 5/8" deep so they will fit depth wise. I imagine they are not the best in the world but they have to be way better than the paper cones that are in there now?
Comments.
