Will this headunit fit?

http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Produ...BB&c=3&tp=5684

Crutchfield says no...depth is only 6.1", factory radio is 6.625". DIN mount. I wonder about the center knob, will it clear the cover? Like the built in bluetooth, CT is a "hands free only" cell phone in car state.

I also like the 728 colors, should find one close to the SVXs dashlight color...
Anyone seen or tried one of these?

This radio fits any din slot right? cause if that is the case it will fit and all you would have to do is find a universal pocket to put in place of where the factory cd player is...

ha!
I thought it was 6.25... even better
Either way, you should be good on the back end, but you'll probably have to pull the curved liner off of the door to accomodate the knob in the front... unless you mount the unit on the bottom or mod the liner/insert

...who knows? it may even clear the knob, but I would go with melting the liner a bit (if needed) and keeping the head unit on the top side.

Re: Will this headunit fit?

Looks like it'll clear easy.

Just mount it up top as far as it can go, and your little knob should even clear the door. You shoudn't even have to pull of the plastic inside the hide-away door - looks to be a 1-1/2 DIN size.

As far as the websites go, they're clueless about our cars. Crutchfield and Best Buy told me "It won't fit". I said "You're wrong". Guess who has a DVD player in their car?

Hi all!
The unit is installed, and fit excellent. I used the dc.svx wiring adapter and excellent instructions. You are correct, the factory unit was 6.25", 6.625" is the maximum depth of the cage. Although the knob on this unit is in the middle, I still could not install the curved liner and close door without interference.
I want to modify the liner to fit, but don't want to wreck it...what is the method to melt the knob clearance in? If I were to heat a metal rod of a slightly larger diameter than the knob and press it into the liner, I would fear that the plastic would stick to the rod and leave an unsightly finish...
